Community Unites to Support Those Affected by Recent Flooding |
In the wake of the devastating July 4 floods that ravaged the Texas Hill Country, local businesses in Fredericksburg have stepped up to provide essential support to flood victims and first responders.
The Full Moon Inn Bed and Breakfast has transformed into a central hub for relief efforts, offering donations, hot meals, and complimentary lodging to those impacted. This initiative underscores the community's commitment to aiding neighbors in need.
Local hardware stores, including Biedermann’s Ace Hardware and Lochte Feed & General Store, have been among the first to offer support and supplies to those affected. McCoy’s Building Supply in Kerrville has distributed free cleanup kits stocked with bleach, gloves, and trash bags to assist homeowners in the arduous cleanup process.
The Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival has redirected all proceeds from its Preview Week, running from July 21 to 27, to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund. This gesture highlights the festival's dedication to supporting the community during challenging times.
Additionally, local hotels and inns have opened their doors to provide shelter for victims, families, and first responders, ensuring that those affected have a safe place to stay during the recovery period.
The collective efforts of Fredericksburg's businesses and residents exemplify the town's resilience and unwavering support for one another in times of crisis. |
